Infinity(JBL) Glide510 On-Ear Wireless Headphones with Mic

The Infinity makes low-priced entry-level Earphones and Headphones and is a sub-brand of JBL. The Infinity(JBL) Glide510 On-Ear Wireless Headphones with Mic supports Bluetooth v5.0  with voice assistant control. The product is easy to carry because of its foldable design. The Infinity Glide 510  weighs 110 grams and comes in Black, Blue, and Red colors.

The Infinity(JBL) Glide510 On-Ear Wireless Headphones with Mic comes with earpad cushioning and an adjustable headband which can be set accordingly, so the music is heard clearly without any disturbance. The only problem is, the headband does not have any padding ( cushioning ), so people with less or no hair can get hurt. Bluetooth 5.0 comes with a 10m range and Infinity Glide 510 has a 400mAh battery that lasts for 72 hours.

It has no aux-in port on the headphones, so you can’t connect to devices when you run out of power. The sound quality is good with no artificial bass. The controls are on the ear pad which you can master easily. The Infinity Glide 510 is a good wireless headphone with great sound output, voice assistant, foldable design, and hands-free calling feature for the budget it offers.

Design & Build Quality

If I place the Infinity Glide 500 and Infinity Glide 510 side by side, it’s difficult to tell them apart. There is no distinction. The body is constructed of a plastic-like substance. When you run your fingertips across the ‘U’ shaped section, it feels slightly rubbery. Only the area around the logo on the ear cups is completely matt finished. The logo is done in a golden gleaming color. Another logo can be found on the outside section of the headband.

The cushions are extremely comfortable and coated in a leather-like substance. On the right headband, there are three buttons and a light indication. I’ll get to the functionality later.

The ear cups are only rotatable on one side and fold towards the interior, making them portable and easy to carry in luggage and bags.

Because of the body material, this Glide 510 should be handled with caution. However, in this price range, you cannot expect much more.

Audio Quality

Harman Audio Industry provides a 36mm audio driver. As a result, the audio quality is unquestionable. The sound is really clear and loud, just as the company said. There are also two options for you to choose from Deep Bass and Normal. When you move from one to the other, you will immediately sense the difference. In this pricing bracket, the Bass is simply amazing.

Regardless of the mode, you select, the music will not hurt you even at the maximum level.

Microphone

The microphone input, along with the controls, is located on the right ear cup. The distance from the mouth is considerable, although this is unimportant. It simply receives sound. There is no noise or other issues. The Voice Assistant can also appropriately receive instructions.

Comfort & Usage

This headset weighs 110 grams in total. That’s quite light to wear for an extended period. However, no more than 4 to 5 hours. You may get some earache as a result of this. Because the ear cups are a little too snug. It’s natural; otherwise, it wouldn’t be in the correct position as you move your head.

We have discussed the Glide 510’s foldability. However, It would be advisable for you not to carry it in bags. Because when folded, the ear cups remain slightly bent towards the exterior. Furthermore, the plastic body is not tough enough to withstand any form of accidental pressure.

Bluetooth 5.0, which is extremely fast, is used for connectivity. You must pair the headset with your smartphone for the first time after turning it on. It connects in a matter of seconds once you select the “Infinity Glide 510” device choice. It takes less than a second to connect the first time and less than a second to reconnect the second time.

The range of connectivity is excellent. Wearing the headset, I move around 30 to 35 feet away from my tablet. The track runs smoothly and without interruption.

Functionality

There are three buttons on the right ear cup, however, you can do more than three things with them.

  • To switch on/off the gadget, long-press the Power Button.
  • Play/Pause track, Take/Cut calls with a single click of the Power Button.
  • Activate the voice assistant by double-pressing the Power Button.
  • Volume up is activated by a single push of the Volume up Button.
  • Volume down is activated by a single push of the Volume down Button.
  • Long-press the Volume Up Button to go to the next track.
  • To return to the previous track, long-press the Volume Down Button.
  • Press both the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons at the same time to toggle Deep Bass Mode on/off.

When you turn the headset on or off, pair or disconnect any device, or toggle the Deep Bass mode on or off, a female voice announces those actions.

Battery Backup

It is one of the things Harman emphasized. The firm promises a battery life of up to 72 hours.

It takes around 24 hours to reduce the charge from 80 percent to 50 percent. That implies 10% of the battery is depleted every 8 hours. It takes around 33 hours to go from 50% to 0%. It runs for 57 hours in total, from 80 percent to 0%.

While charging via the MicroUSB connector, the Glide 510 takes an hour to raise 50% off the ground and another hour to climb 100%. That is, the company’s estimate almost matches.

If you use it at full volume while keeping the Deep Bass on, the duration will be shorter. Even so, the battery life will be more than adequate.
